I am back and ready to rant!

Well, yeah, been out of this thing for some time and ALOT has happened during it. But all that will be saved for another time since it is 0100 in the morning and I have a report due in five hours. So slept will have to take priority tonight. But I shall return and it will not be as long this time...sleep well all.

Airport Revelations

Sitting here in Atlanta and watching people is truly interesting. Everyone looks soooo lost. and the people who work here treat them all like cattle. I did have fun riding in the wheelchair and "accidentally" hitting people with my cane. Then when we got into the little tran, some old lady kept rocking back and forth and her purse kept smacking me in the head. Yeah, I know, KARMA....

Anyway, while sitting there minding my own business and playing my little online game, the guy next to me was trying to give me advice while I was playing. I so love a backseat driver while I am playing a game....He is gone now. YIPPEEE...

Well, I have another hour of people watching before I hop on another plane. I will up date later tonight if I run into any more amusing people....

Low on Rants Lately

People have been less annoying than usual this week. My only encounter was talking to a manager during a union greviance and blowing up at her. My new mission in life is to get her fired.

Being a Steward is fairly fun. I like to help the underdog. I never understood why they still had unions until I started working for the IRS. In general, people are dumb and need someone outside of the situation to help them. If everyone actually acted decent to one another, we wouldn't need Unions.

I am also the chapter president for a veteran's group. I like to help fellow vets understand their rights and benifits. I am planning a charity drive next week in honor of Memorial Day and all proceeds will be going to the Michigan Veterans Foundation, an organization that helps homeless veterans. I have been soooooo jazzed about this. Unfortunately, I will be out of town while it is going on, but I have several people who have volunteered to be points of contact for people to drop off donations. I am expecting a great turn out for it.

Well, had bowling tonight and now I am very tired and the meds are starting to wear off and so Iam starting to remember what pain is so I am going to head to bed.

Evacuations in the work place for the handicapped.

Well got to have words with the Fire Marshall's PR rep today. After the last building emergency, I went off on security and saftey about their procedures. In response they held a meeting with the Fire Rep and all the handicapped in the building. My complaint:

I have been inthat building for almost three years and every exercise of real event has ended with no handicapped people leaving the building. They escort us to the stairwell and leave us. The fire department( in theory) is suppose to get us out. I can't use the stairs and I know lots of others in the same boat. They say the stairwell has an hour and a half satey time against smoke and fire if all the doors stay closed.

I have been in real world events while in the military and I have seen exersices like this happen and then when the real thing kicks off no one knows what to do and people have died. I have seen it. It is not pretty.

It was a 2 hour meeting and alot of things were discussed. I understand why they do what they do a little more, but I am not much happier. Oh well such is life.....

Thoughtless People

Since my lovely work feels the need to block this website, I am jotting down my thoughts here at work and then copying them into the blog at the end of the day when I get home....

My blogs will most likely be rants since there is a lot of stuff in the world that irk the crap out of me. So if you want to hear a black woman go nuts, read on....

Today's rant is about thoughtless people. I currently am carpooling with a co-worker. July 11 of last year was when we agreed to start carpooling. Within a month or two, her car ended up going into the shop. I thought "no biggy". That was last year....... Now it is May and she still does not have a working car. Oh, she still pays me every other month for gas for the week she should be driving, but I am getting tired of being her bloody chauffeur. At first I just let her have the car in the evenings and on weekends because my partner and I don't go out much, but I have since put a stop to that. She was telling me that she was either going to get a new car or get the current one fixed. She has decided on keeping the one that needs a new transmission and try to get another car as a spare. The date for this miraculous event keeps getting pushed back.

The thing that gets me is she makes twice as much as I do, yet she keeps talking about how she needs to get a loan to get a new car. I have two cars, one still being paid for, a large car insurance, my rent is more than her mortgage and I have a partner who is not working and six pets to feed and I still manage to keep a bit of money if needed and I make half what she does. It has been almost 9 months since her car died, you would think that with what she makes, she could have gotten a new car and almost had it paid for by now....

What is causing all this lovely drama is that fact that she is addicted to the casinos. every spare bit of money goes in a slot machine. She has gotten a payday loan that she had said at first that it was going to be for a down payment for a car, but instead it seems to have disappeared and she claims she decided to pay off all the credit cards and then was going to put a car on them....that never happened.

The reason I put a stop to her taking the car on the weekends was because while my partner and I were out of town in our other car, she decided to take MY car across the border to Winsor to hit the casinos and didn't bother to ask if it was okay. I discovered this when I got back. She thought it was no big deal and still doesn't know why I am upset about it. Okay, you do not take someone else's car out of state, let alone out of the country, without their permission. That is beyond rude.

The latest little straw on this camel's back was almost two weeks ago I was driving to get her after work to take her to Bowling(on a Friday). I had a birthday 6 days prior and my partner had one coming up the following week. I was planning on getting my registration done on Monday. Well, I got about a mile from my house when I got pulled over. It seems that the registration expired on my birthday not hers, so I got a ticket. If it hadn't been for my carpooler, the car would not have been out on the road. I no longer take her to bowling after work anymore....

Ya know, I love being nice to my friends. Heck I would give them the shirt off my back if it would help them. But when they start to take advantage of my kindness, it irks the heck out of me. If she doesn't get a car soon, she will be walking to work......

Gods, I feel better now....
